Zac Waksal – Co-Founder

Zachary started a career in sustainable infrastructure development as VP of Business Development and Government relations for an international, innovative materials manufacturing group.  The focus of the company was on disaster relief and affordable housing.  After the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, Zachary worked on the ground alongside and contracting for non-profits including the United Nations World Food Programme and CHF International working to rebuild a country from the ground up.  Zachary was quick to realize that the biggest underlying issue causing inefficiency in deploying aid and getting communities back on their feet was the lack of infrastructure.  NGOs from around the world went to work but many were forced to sit around while they could not find shelter, power, and transportation.  Only those that could afford our company’s services could take action.  Zachary founded Building Blocks for Change with the goal of expanding world aid and impact by providing communities with the infrastructure they need to welcome progress.

Julian Waksal – Co-Founder

Julian graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2012 with a BA in economics and is currently a medical student at Tufts University School of Medicine. Julian has been part of numerous community service development projects in many developing nations including Honduras, Fiji, and Egypt.  Through his work abroad, he has observed that many international aid projects, while an incredible learning experience, are short-lived projects that are only of temporary aid to communities.  From these experiences, he has developed a great interest in finding and creating more permanent solutions for tackling global health issues. Julian leads our sustainable healthcare development endeavors.
